A WORD FROM THE DG

The Government of Côte d'Ivoire has set itself the ambition of stimulating development through ICT, in order to lay the foundations for a sustainable digital economy. This vision aims to profoundly transform the social economy, sustainably strengthen economic growth and build a knowledge economy to serve the Ivorian people.

This digital ecosystem will enable Côte d'Ivoire to offer competitive and accessible ICT services to all, thereby promoting digital inclusion and socio-economic development.

At VITIB, our mission is to coordinate actions in favor of creative technologies and the digital economy, in order to generate more value, create jobs for young people and women and facilitate access to knowledge for all populations.

With a team of multidisciplinary experts and the support of solid institutional partners, the VITIB General Management is committed to promoting public-private partnerships and stimulating investments. Together, we are taking on the challenge of conquering digital sovereignty in Africa, with a clear ambition: to make VITIB the essential destination for technological innovation in Africa.

our History

As part of its policy of economic modernization and promotion of the digital economy, Côte d’Ivoire has set up a free zone dedicated to information technologies and biotechnology. .

This strategic project, materialized by VITIB (Village of Information Technologies and Biotechnology) which ensures its management, promotion and operation, is located in Grand-Bassam, about fifteen kilometers from Abidjan. .

Indeed, Inspired by the success stories of technology parks like Bangalore (India), VITIB currently has on its park more than ninety (90) approved companies operating in various technology sectors (Data centers, cybersecurity, etc.) and Biotechnology (pharma industry, etc.) in a favorable ecosystem thanks to major infrastructures built in the ZBTIC.

Our evolution testifies to the country's desire to become part of the global innovation economy, by focusing on technology, youth and International partnerships.

2004

Law establishing the free zone regime for Biotechnology, Information and Communication technologies

2006

Decree on the application of the law establishing the ZBTIC regime Decree creating the Grand - Bassam free zone Establishment of VITIB S.A., a company for the management and operation of the free zone

2007

WHY JOIN US

VITIB is a public limited company responsible for developing and managing the Free Zone for Biotechnology and Information and Communication Technologies (ZBTIC), the first Technology Park in West Africa, located in Côte d'Ivoire, in the historic city of Grand-Bassam.

Spanning 624 hectares, the ZBTIC is organized into three zones (A, B and C), designed to accommodate innovative companies in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies and Biotechnology.

Supported by a government initiative, VITIB's ambition is to make Côte d'Ivoire the technological showcase of West Africa. Thanks to its exceptional tax environment and modern infrastructure, it offers investors privileged access to a regional market of more than 300 million consumers (UEMOA and ECOWAS).
